Blessings Reader,

Faith is a Gift

Our faith simply exists. It just, is. As a Christian, there are many things for me to do. I am to take up my cross and follow Jesus. I am to love, and to be gracious. Yet, the gift of faith has no expectations for me.

Faith, for many of us, is the first invitation we accept from Jesus. We accept the gift that is given to us. This gift that is beyond description. We are saved through faith, and our faith is wound up and bound up with salvation.

But God is rich in mercy. Because He loved us with such a great love, even when our wrongdoings had left us dead, He made us alive together with Christ. In His rich mercy, by grace, you have been saved. And in God's mercy He raised us up with Him, and seated us with Him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus. He has done all this so that in the ages to come He might show the surpassing riches of His grace. A grace He has shown in kindness towards us in Christ Jesus.
For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith. And your salvation and faith are not of yourselves, it is the gift of God. It's not a result of works, so that no one may boast. For we are what He has made us, created in Christ Jesus to do good things which God prepared in advance for us to do.
Ephesians 2: 4-10

I treasure that my salvation and faith are the gift of God. That we are what God has made us. That we are made this way to do good things. To do good things together with God. The things that we get to do flow from God's rich mercy and love.

This week, may you find your faith refreshed by the mercy and love of God.

Until Next Week

A Prayer for the Week to Come

Father, help me to accept and believe that my faith is a gift from God. Humble me from my boasts, and let my eyes see the good things you've prepared for me today, and tomorrow.
